Derby County will take on Barnsley in their final Sky Bet Championship fixture ahead of the November international break on Saturday afternoon at Pride Park Stadium (3pm kick-off).

Derby will be looking to go into the two-week break without a fixture on a positive note as they look to show a reaction to Wednesday night's late 1-0 loss to Queens Park Rangers on home turf, following a run of three successive 1-1 draws against Nottingham Forest, Cardiff City and AFC Bournemouth.

TEAM NEWS…

Derby’s squad has no fresh injury concerns following the 1-0 defeat at to home to Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday night.

Polish midfielder Krystian Bielik could feature in the matchday squad after playing 90 minutes for Derby’s Under-23s against West Ham United on Monday night.

The 22-year-old played a full game for the first time since suffering a long-term knee injury in January of this year and was an unused substitute for the Rams in the 1-1 draw at AFC Bournemouth last weekend.

Winger Jordon Ibe is still building up his sharpness after joining as a free agent in September and has missed the Under-23s’ games against West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur this week due to illness. He is in line to be in first-team contention following the November international break in a fortnight’s time.

Although manager Phillip Cocu is in self-isolation for 14 days, along with Executive Chairman Mel Morris CBE after into contact with Chief Executive Officer Stephen Pearce, who has tested positive for COVID-19, he will select the side.

Cocu will watch the watch from home via a live feed and remain in contact with his coaching staff throughout.

PRE-MATCH THOUGHTS…

Speaking to RamsTV ahead of Saturday's game, Derby's Specialist First Team Coach Liam Rosenior said: “It is difficult when you go through a tough period. I looked in the players’ eyes after the game on Wednesday and they know that the levels were not up to it in the first half, but we were better after half-time.

“You can’t guarantee that you will play really well every week, you can’t guarantee that you are going to score goals from 30 yards. What you can guarantee is that you can come off the pitch and say ‘I gave that everything’ in terms of going for tackles, headers and passion for the game.

“We need to do that for 90 minutes, and with the quality of players we have at this football club, if we do that then results will turn for us. I have no doubt about that.

“We have got a lot of experience in that dressing room and a lot of quality as well. Sometimes it just takes a moment of brilliance, a lucky deflection or a referee’s decision to go your way and then suddenly, the whole atmosphere around the football club changes.

“We just need to make sure we have got patience and time to make sure we are moving in the right direction.”

More pre-match comments from Rosenior, and winger Kamil Jozwiak, can be found across dcfc.co.uk and also on RamsTV.

WE WILL REMEMBER THEM…

In what is Derby’s final home game before Remembrance Sunday on 8th November 2020, the two teams and officials will pay their respects prior to kick-off.

The teams will gather around the centre-circle, alongside the match officials, whilst the sound of the Last Post is played at Pride Park Stadium through a bugle.

Each member of Derby’s matchday squad will be issued with a match shirt displayed a Poppy which will be worn on Saturday.

Remembrance Sunday is traditionally held on the second Sunday in November and is the anniversary of the end of hostilities in the First World War at 11am in 1918, to commemorate the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts.

GOAL LINE TECHNOLOGY…

Goal line technology is, once again, being used at all Sky Bet Championship matches during the 2020/21 season.

The system was introduced for the start of the 2017/18 campaign and is now entering its fourth full season in the division.

WHO’S THE MAN IN THE MIDDLE…

Leigh Doughty will take charge of Saturday afternoon's game at Pride Park Stadium.

Doughty has taken charge of six matches in the 2020/21 campaign to date, producing a total of 12 yellow cards and no reds.

The game will be Doughty's first in charge of Derby County in a match, having stepped up to the Championship for the 2020/21 campaign after progressing from the National League and Leagues One and Two.

Doughty will be assisted by Nick Greenhalgh and Matthew McGrath on the lines, whilst Geoff Eltringham has been appointed as the

fourth official.

STAY AT HOME…

Derby County is continuing to urge supporters to stay away from stadiums when matches are played, with the UK Government advice remaining the same relating to playing behind-closed-doors at this time in the 2020/21 season.

Matches are still being played behind-closed-doors with the safety of supporters, club personnel and the frontline services remaining the principle priority at this time.

Consequently, supporters will not be permitted entry to any area of the stadium and extra security measures around the immediate area including car parks will be in place when staging matches.

Supporters are also urged to maintain social distancing guidelines and avoid congregating outside stadiums or gathering to watch matches, as part of a new campaign message: ‘When we play, please stay away’ ahead of all EFL matches.

The club and the Derbyshire Constabulary are united in one message to fans - support the Rams and 'Watch From Home'.
