Derby County fans can get their hands on a new book entitled ‘Pride: The Inside Story of Derby County in the 21st Century’, written by Rams supporter Ryan Hills, from the DCFCMegastore now.
Detailed over the last 20 years, ‘Pride’ includes exclusive interviews with key figures from the club, both on and off the field, as it takes you behind-the-scenes at Pride Park Stadium and reveals some of the inner secrets.
From Stefanio Eranio and Mart Poom, to Steve McClaren and Craig Bryson, Hills has spoken to those closest to the action in a season-by-season review of all things Derby County.
He said: “It is going back through the years. With the book being called ‘Pride’, it is from the time they moved into the stadium onwards. It starts with Jim Smith’s days and is a season by season analysis.
“It looks at the players, managers, chairmen and those that are a part of it from that specific year. It tells the story from the season but from a completely different perspective from the one that fans get.
“The idea was to take it from the first day of 2000, to the last day of 2019 so it covers a 20-year overlook. I discovered more than I ever expected from it and the good thing was that most of the people I spoke to were really open in what they wanted to say.
“Ones that went back around 15 years, they didn’t specifically care who they offended which made things nice for me!”
The book includes:
- Memories of Jim Smith’s glorious reign, told by those who knew him best
- Tales of Taribo West and Fabrizio Ravanelli, as the Premier League experience came to a close
- A look-back at the promotion campaign under Billy Davies
- An inside assessment of Nigel Clough's years in charge
- Life inside the Derby dugout: Steve McClaren, Gary Rowett and George Burley explain all
- And much more!
‘Pride’ will be available to purchase from the DCFC Megastore at Pride Park Stadium, both in store and online at dcfcmegastore.com, for £19.99.
