Today, on Friday 23rd October, we are celebrating Breast Cancer Now’s ‘Wear It Pink’ day.

Breast Cancer Now’s ‘Wear It Pink’ day is one of the biggest fundraising events in the United Kingdom.

Taking place during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, thousands of people wear it pink in their communities, schools or workplaces for the United Kingdom's largest breast cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now.

Earlier this month Derby County launched their new 2020/21 pink third kit, which proudly supports Breast Cancer Now’s ‘Wear It Pink’ fundraising campaign.

Throughout the month of October, the club and Umbro have joined forces to donate £5 from the full sale price of every Adult third shirt and £3 from the sale of every Child third shirt to Breast Cancer Now.

Right now, an estimated 600,000 people are living with or after a breast cancer diagnosis in the UK, and every year, 11,500 lives are lost to the disease. That’s someone every 45 minutes.

Derby County and Derby County Community Trust, through the Active Recovery Programme, recognises the huge role it can play in raising awareness around signs and symptoms of breast cancer and other health problems.

It can be easier to take note when these messages come from a friendly face sporting a Ram logo and not a healthcare professional, therefore we encourage everyone to regularly check themselves.

The Derby County third kit is available from the DCFCMegastore and online at DCFCMegastore.co.uk with £5 from the full sale price of every Adult third shirt and £3 from the full sale price of every Junior third shirt sold throughout October donated to Breast Cancer Now.
