Derby County Under-23s’ Premier League 2 - Division 1 fixtures for the 2020/21 campaign have been confirmed.
After a six-month absence from competitive football following the curtailment of the 2019/20 season due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Under-23s are set to finally take to the pitch again in a competitive fixture with a tasty opening fixture against Manchester City on Saturday 12th September (1pm kick-off) at the City Football Academy.
The following week, they will return to their home ground, Loughborough University Stadium, to take on Liverpool on Friday 18th September (7pm kick-off).
Derby enjoyed another season in the top half of the league in the last campaign, with victories over Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Manchester City seeing them spend some time in the top-two.
At the point of the curtailment, the Under-23s, managed by Senior Professional Development Phase Coach Pat Lyson, were sat in fourth place.
Wolverhampton Wanderers were in last place in the league at that point, which saw them relegated to Division 2, while Manchester United return to the top division and will be the Rams’ final opponent of the season when they travel to Loughborough University Stadium in May.
