Kamil Jozwiak says he is delighted to be starting the next chapter of his career with Derby County.

The winger has joined the Rams from Polish top-flight side Lech Poznan and signed a four-year contract until the summer of 2024.

Jozwiak, who has three caps to his name for Poland, is relishing the prospect of pulling on a Derby shirt and playing his football in England.

The 22-year-old, who is good friends with the Rams’ other Polish international Krystian Bielik, cannot wait to get his career at Pride Park Stadium underway.

The exciting wideman is looking forward to playing under Derby boss Phillip Cocu and has spoken of his desire to be challenging at the top end of the Sky Bet Championship table.

“I am so happy that I am here,” he told RamsTV in his first interview as a Derby player. “It is the next step in my career and I so excited and happy.

“I know a bit about Derby as I have watched matches because I knew about interest in me in December.

“I saw a few matches and I know Krystian Bielik, he is my friend and I spoke with him and he said this would be a good step for me.”

He added: “I spoke with Krystian a lot of times and I have known him since I was 14 years old, we are so close. He told me the coach wanted me here, and that the team needed me too, which was good.

“I hope I will help the team in the season and that we will fight for promotion to the Premier League.”

News of Jozwiak’s arrival has been greeting with much excitement by Derby’s supporters.

Speculation has been ongoing for several weeks about his potential move to England and he has been inundated with messages on social media.

Jozwiak is keen to repay the faith show in him by Derby’s fans and he said: “I hope I can show our fans all of my qualities

“I have had messages from the fans on my Instagram and that it is nice, knowing that the fans want me here too.”

Jozwiak has been allocated squad number seven and could make his Derby debut in Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship fixture at Luton Town, subject to EFL and international clearance.
