Clough Oversees Training At The Baseball Ground
Legendary former Derby County manager Brian Clough is pictured here overseeing training in July 1970 ahead of the 1970/71 season.
Clough, at the time, was preparing for his fourth season in charge at the Baseball Ground and is seen here dressed smartly whilst his players take a breather in the training session.
Derby were building up to their second season in the First Division under Clough, having finished fourth in the previous campaign.
Despite an opening day 2-1 loss at Chelsea, Derby responded by winning their next three games against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Stoke City and Ipswich Town.
The Rams went on to finish ninth in the 1970/71 campaign and plenty of foundations were being laid ahead of their title-winning 1971/72 season.
