Derby County is saddened to have learned of the passing of its former player Bert Mozley.
The club has been informed that Mozley, who was 96, passed away last week.
Born in Derby, Mozley made 321 appearances for the Rams between 1945 and 1955.
Mozley, who played as a right-back for Derby, was also capped three times by England during his playing career.
He is described in the Derby County Complete Record book as ‘a skilled defender who delighted in coming forward to try speculative shots, although they brought him only two goals in 321 first-team appearances’.
He was also described as ‘the Rams’ dressing-room jester, Mozley was always organising practical jokes’.
The club’s sincerest condolences are with Bert’s family and friends at this time.
