Krystian Bielik is looking forward to what he feels will be a 'massive game' for Derby County against Brentford on Saturday and he believes a positive result can kick-start a good run of form following the international break.

The Rams will take on the Bees at Griffin Park on Saturday afternoon in the final game ahead of the first international break of the season (3pm kick-off).

After a 2-1 victory over Huddersfield Town in the opening game of the season, Derby have recorded three draws and a defeat in the Sky Bet Championship.

The 21-year-old believes it is just a matter of time before a win will ignite a positive run of form for Phillip Cocu's side.

“It is going to be a massive game for us,” Bielik told RamsTV.

“I think in the last few games it didn’t go as well as we thought so we need to get three points away at Brentford, who are a good side.

“I think if we can get the win, we can keep going on a run. It is a great opportunity to do this against Brentford.”

In Derby’s last league game against West Bromwich Albion last weekend Bielik admitted the Rams were disappointed with a 1-1 draw and felt the performance warranted more.

However, in a game of three penalties, each team converted one while Martyn Waghorn had his second spot-kick of the afternoon saved.

“The first penalty, I think was a penalty and we scored the goal,” he explained.

In football, when you are the better side and you show that on the pitch, sometimes luck is on your side. I think the referee made a mistake and gave us a penalty, but we didn’t score.

“I think if we would have scored it then that game could have been over, but we didn't and that built them up. They felt like they could come back.

“I don’t think it was a penalty for them late on.

“It was disappointing, but we need to stay positive in the dressing room and we know that when we get three points, then we can go on a good run.”

Following a late start to pre-season which was ramped up with his arrival at Pride Park from Arsenal towards the end of the transfer window, Bielik missed the first couple of games of the campaign for the Rams while he built up his fitness.

Now, with a handful of appearances under his belt and more familiarity with his teammates the Poland international is feeling settled in the team and ready to kick on.

He said: “At the start it was hard for me because I didn’t really know anyone.

"I know all the names, the staff and people who works at the training ground now, so it is getting better for me.

“The guys are really nice to me and welcomed me nice. I feel much better in training now too because I know the players.”
