Representatives and fans of EFL clubs are taking on the ‘Mind United: Trek the Peak District’ challenge this weekend.
The EFL is excited to be working with Mind - the mental health charity - and together are aiming to be game changers over the course of their partnership as their official charity partner.
The 2018/19 EFL season was a groundbreaking one for many reasons, none more so than the EFL’s partnership with Mind. Like physical health, everyone has mental health, and both are equally important to look after.
Whether you’re a star striker or a season ticket holder, with one in four people experiencing a mental health problem, the EFL and Mind believe that no one should have to live in fear about opening up and are using the power of football to improve the nation’s wellbeing.
On Saturday 13th July, a group of dedicated fans and representatives of EFL clubs are heading to one of Britain’s most inspiring national parks, the Peak District, for a 12-hour overnight hike challenge to raise money and awareness for mental health.
It will be a test of fitness, endurance and team spirit, and promises to be a life-changing experience. That’s why football fans have also been encouraged to sign up and represent their club on the challenge.
The challenge will be testing mentally and physically, but Mind will be on every participant’s side with a dedicated support team to provide help along the way.
From Plymouth to Macclesfield and Northampton to Derby, fans are taking part from clubs all over the country.
Derby County will be represented on the challenge by Club Ambassador Marc Edworthy, as well as other staff members.
