Derby County will face Scunthorpe United in the First Round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday 13th August (7:45pm kick-off).
The Rams will travel to Glanford Park to take on the Sky Bet League Two side in a bid to reach the Second Round of the competition.
Derby enjoyed a good run in the competition last season by beating Oldham Athletic, Hull City and Manchester United before falling to Chelsea in the Fourth Round of the competition.
Scunthorpe, who are managed by Paul Hurst, were knocked out of the competition at the First Round stage last term as they were beaten at home by Doncaster Rovers.
The sides last met in the competition at the start of the 2012/13 season, also at the First Round stage, at Pride Park Stadium. The tie ended in a thrilling 5-5 draw before Scunthorpe ran out 7-6 winners on penalties.
The tie could see Derby's USA international midfielder Duane Holmes come up against his former club after he joined the Rams from Scunthorpe for an undisclosed fee last summer.
Ticket information regarding the tie for Derby fans will be released in due course.
