Derby County's Under-23s have an opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League 2 Division 1 when they travel to face second-placed Everton at Finch Farm on Sunday, kick-off: 12:30pm.
The young Rams will be looking to regain momentum after a 1-0 defeat against Manchester City last week ended a five-game league winning run.
THE STORY SO FAR…
Darren Wassall’s side moved to the top of the table at the half-way point of the season with a 5-0 victory over Arsenal to overtake Sunday’s opposition, Everton. However, a 1-0 defeat at the Training Centre in partnership to the University of Derby to Manchester City last Friday ended an impressive run of form for the Rams.
In the reverse fixture at the Loughborough University Stadium, the Rams handed the Toffees their first defeat of the season with a 1-0 victory. Derby controlled large portions of the game and were rewarded with all three points after George Thorne converted from the penalty spot halfway through the first-half.
