After the weekend’s impressive 2-1 victory at home to high-flying Sheffield United, manager Frank Lampard and striker Jack Marriott have been recognised in the EFL's Team of the Week.
The manager masterminded the victory as his side put in a dazzling display which saw Craig Bryson open the scoring after only 19 seconds following fast-flowing football down the left-hand side, with Marriott provided the assist for the Scotsman's goal.
Blades defender Chris Basham levelled the scores before half time, however, the Rams managed to find the winner with less than 15 minutes left to play.
Craig Forsyth’s pinpoint cross found Marriott, who managed to get between the two centre halves, and his deft touch guided the ball past Dean Henderson to ensure Derby secured victory and moved up to fifth in the table.
That was Marriott’s second goal in as many games for the Rams and the win moved Lampard’s side into the play-off places, four points off Championship leaders Middlesbrough.
