Gary Rowett has made three changes to his starting line-up from Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers for the visit of Preston North End, kick-off: 7:45pm.
Marcus Olsson, Matej Vydra and David Nugent are make their first league starts of the 2017/18 season, with the latter leading the line against his former club.
The trio replace Craig Forsyth, who is rested entirely, Jacob Butterfield and Chris Martin, with both of those players named on a strong looking substitutes bench against the Lilywhites at Pride Park Stadium.
After starting the last two matches by utilising a 4-3-3 formation, Rowett has also opted to tweak how his team line-up to a 4-2-3-1.
Tom Lawrence, who became the club’s fourth summer signing today, is not eligible to feature.
