Derby County’s first-team squad will head to Germany today for their final pre-season friendly ahead of the 2016/17 season.
Nigel Pearson’s side will take on Bundesliga 2 outfit Karlsruher SC on Saturday (30th July, 3:30pm local time) in their final pre-season friendly ahead of the 2016/17 season.
Karlsruher SC were last in Germany’s top flight in 2008/09 and Derby will go head-to-head with them at their Wildparkstadion ground tomorrow afternoon.
Derby are also due to take in a training session later today once they have arrived in Karlsruher.
The game itself will present one final chance for the Rams’ players to stake a claim for a first-team spot in a match situation, ahead of the opening day of the 2016/17 season against Brighton & Hove Albion next weekend.
Derby’s players have been back in pre-season training for the last month and have recorded three wins and a defeat from their four pre-season matches to date.
Since returning from their pre-season tour of Portugal, the Rams have won three games in a row against Walsall (2-0), Chesterfield (2-1) and Sheffield United (1-0).
Look out for live match updates, a match report and reaction from the game tomorrow afternoon on Derby’s social media platforms and on dcfc.co.uk.
