Striker leaves Rams after two years at Pride Park.

Derby County striker Nathan Tyson has made a transfer deadline day move Sky Bet Championship side Blackpool.

The 31-year-old frontman, who joined Derby in the summer of 2011 from East Midlands rivals Nottingham Forest, has signed for the Seasiders on a free transfer.

Tyson, who was due to be out of contract next summer, had been made available for transfer earlier this summer by the Rams.

He has penned a one-year deal with Paul Ince’s men, with the option of a further year.

Manager Nigel Clough said: “Having strengthened our striking department in the last year the options we now have at our disposal would have continued to limit Nathan’s first-team opportunities.

“We know he has a strong desire to play first-team football and we wish him well for the future.”

Tyson made 41 appearances for Derby in total, scoring on five occasions.

He spent the closing weeks of last season on loan at Millwall, where he made four appearances, and he will link up with former Derby frontman Steven Davies at Bloomfield Road.
