Rams duo help open a new high-end dining facility for use on both match and non-match days at Pride Park.

The Don Amott Diamond Club at Derby County’s Pride Park Stadium was officially opened on Wednesday evening.

Back in April, Derby announced a five-year and six-figure sponsorship deal with Don Amott Parks, with part of the agreement seeing Don Amott sponsor the Brian Clough Lounge.

As a result, the room has now been rebranded as the Don Amott Diamond Club.

Amott created and owns Don Amott Leisure Parks and is also a former Derby County director and shareholder.

Refurbishment work got underway in May to transform the room into a high-end dining facility for use on both match and non-match days at Pride Park.

The new-look suite was unveiled on Thursday evening for the first-team with 50 prospects arriving for the opening ceremony.

Derby County’s Republic of Ireland international duo Conor Sammon and Richard Keogh were on hand to help celebrate the opening of the facility with Amott and his wife Mary, alongside Derby Chief Executive Sam Rush and Chief Operating Officer John Vicars.

All attendees had the opportunity to sample the food and drink which will be on offer in the Diamond Club Suite this season, with over 50% of the places available in the facility already reserved for the 2013-14 season.

Amott, who was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Derby University for in recognition of his services to Sports & Business, continues to sponsor a dozen other sporting clubs across the County.

The name of Brian Clough will continue to be recognised in the highest possible fashion at Pride Park and the Club Boardroom will, as of this season, be known as the Brian Clough Boardroom, presented by Bang & Olufsen.
