Are you a budding Derby County star of the future?
The Derby County Academy is continuing to focus its attention on the bright young stars of the future, with Development Centre trials due to take place next week.
The Derby County Development Centres were set up in 2009 to provide the best local footballers, not currently playing Academy football, to train and play together to further their footballing abilities. Any child performing at a consistently high standard is then given the opportunity to push on for a trial at the Derby County Academy.
During the trials, players will be assessed on their technical ability, decision making, athleticism and game understanding. Those players who are successful, will then be incorporated into Derby’s Development Centre programme.
The next Development Centre Academy Trials are being held at Derby University on Wednesday 17th July 2013 as follows:
School Years 7 & 8: 17:30 - 18:55
School Years 9 & 10: 19:05 - 20:30
Participants must register online in order to attend the trials.
A number of players have made the step up from Academy football into the Derby County first team squad in recent months, with Will Hughes, Jeff Hendrick, Mark O’Brien and Mason Bennett all regular faces within the first-team squad - so it's a great time to join the Derby County Academy and be part of a bright future.
Attendance at the trials will only be allowed if you have pre-booked a spot by filling in a copy of the application form, which can be found below:
