Derby County and Derby County Disabled Supporters’ Club are pleased to confirm the introduction of an Audio Descriptive Commentary service at Pride Park Stadium.
This service, provided by Alan March Sport, will be available from Saturday 19th August when the Rams take on Fleetwood Town in Sky Bet League One (3pm kick-off) and is available to blind or partially sighted home and away supporters.
This follows a successful testing trial period at Derby’s home matches at the start of the 2023/24 season.
What Is Audio Descriptive Commentary?
Audio Description is a specialist form of commentary which provides blind and partially sighted supporters detailed descriptions of everything occurring, far surpassing the level of detail that exists in traditional broadcast commentary.
This service will focus on the sporting action, and also provide extra detail that sighted viewers may take for granted, such as, presentations, discussions between officials and everything else of note that happens in live sport!
To book a receiver, please email Disability.Access@dcfc.co.uk or call the Disability Team on 01332 667528 at least 24 hours prior to the fixture date, subject to availability. The club will then arrange for your receiver to be delivered by a steward to your seat prior to kick-off and it will be collected from your seat at the end of the match.
Please Note: You will be asked to provide your Fan ID number, name, phone number and ticket information (stand, block, row and seat number) when booking a receiver and you will also need to provide your own headphones (round jack).
