Derby County’s Golden Rams are invited to the second monthly coffee morning this Friday at Pride Park Stadium.
After the exciting launch of the Golden Rams, an initiative to celebrate and bring together long-time Derby supporters aged 85 and over, Executive Chairman Mel Morris CBE has organised a coffee morning to be held the first Friday of each month.
An area of the stadium’s Starbucks will be set aside from 10am until 12pm for guests to share stories with each other as well as club ambassadors, including Roger Davies and Michael Johnson.
Speaking at the inaugural meeting, Mr. Morris told dcfc.co.uk: “This is what it is all about. Giving away a free season ticket was fine, but it was more about creating new friendships and it’s a great example of that.
“These people are some of our longest serving supporters so it’s fitting for us to have something to acknowledge that.”
Around a dozen supporters came to the first meeting and filled the room with laughter as they reminisced about past seasons.
As well as the coffee mornings, Mr. Morris has given a free Season Ticket to all Golden Rams members who have held a Season Ticket for the past five years.
An easily accessible area of Pride Park Stadium has also been set aside so the older generation of fans can enjoy Rams’ games together.
